Ayyyy, look who's alive! 
What happened: while grinding in the routes before Violet City, there was a Groudon that gave good experience. I knew that its Sky Uppercut could not kill Terry. But the Groudon landed a critical hit. From then on I became more cautious with my grinding. Don't worry, the Riolu didn't actually have Aura Sphere

and thus continues my inability to make realistic dialogue between young characters
